Automated Mechanical Technician - Equipment Maintenance Technician – Production Technician (Manufacturing)

Responsibilities

As an Automation Mechanical Technician (Equipment Maintenance Technician), you will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting automated equipment on the production line which may include computers, printers, production equipment, refrigerators and carts. Additionally, you will perform tasks related to packaging operations according to department procedures and product specifications.

Additional responsibilities for this production technician role include:

  • Identifying and troubleshooting equipment operation issues

  • Performing equipment maintenance tasks according to department procedures, including start up and breaking down of operations, clearing operations areas and calculating component usage

  • Verifying counts of products in-and-out of operations, and visual inspection of product for defects and monitoring processes

  • Moves, stores and inventories production supplies according to department specifications

  • Able to understand the source of products and associated chemical and biosafety hazards

  • Creating legible written records as per procedure/work instruction, within defined time frames

  • Performing tasks and administrative duties relating to all production activities according to departmental procedures

  • Communicate with department managers, supervisors and mechanics with regards to production activities

  • Complying with regulations and standards of notified bodies such as FDA/cGMP, ISO and OSHA

Automated Mechanical Technician - Equipment Maintenance Technician – Production Technician (Manufacturing)

Qualifications

As a Automation Mechanical Technician (Equipment Maintenance Technician), you must have the necessary competencies required for this position. These include demonstrated confidence, strong problem-solving skills and great communication with peers and managers. You should also be able to work with minimal supervision and be a team player with solid work ethic and a commitment to consistently performing high-quality work.

Other requirements for the maintenance technician role include:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree)

  • 1 year certificate from a college or technical school

  • Minimum 6 months related experience required (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and software systems used in product support

  • Schedule flexibility to work irregular hours and days as necessary to meet production schedules

  • Intermediate mathematics skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
