Calibration Senior Technician

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment verifications and calibrations per established procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensure that calibrations/verifications performed by outside vendors meet manufacturer’s and/or Immucor's specifications and/or procedures.

  • Ensure that out-of-tolerance equipment or out-of-calibration events are properly documented and reported, initiating deviations as required.

  • Follow-up on work orders associated with unscheduled calibration events.

  • Prepare Purchase Requistions for the performance of outsourced calibrations by approved vendors.

  • Ensure that equipment scheduled for outsourced calibrations are packed securely to miminize potentail damage during shipment.

  • Ensure that approved vendors on-site follow Immucor rules and regulations.

  • Schedule, or assist owning departments with the scheduling of calibration events in order to meet prescribed calibration intervals and due dates.

  • Maintain equipment verification and calibration records and documentation.

  • Maintain or assist in maintaining the equipment database.

  • Create and update calibration records (i.e., schedules and events) for new and existing equipment.

  • Assist in trending of calibration results and other related metrics.

  • Assist in the development of calibration SOPs and related documents (specifications, forms, work instructions, etc.).

  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and equipment owners to investigate and resolve out-of-tolerance events and other issues for calibrated instruments and devices, assist in the development of a process to eliminate/ reduce out of tolerance deviations, and make recommendations for continual improvement.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of Calibrated Equipment Specifications for like equipment that is purchased repeatively.

  • Partner with Maintenance to troubleshoot and repair simple equipment issues as needed.

Calibration Senior Technician

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college required

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Must have the skill and aptitude to perform in-house equipment calibrations for equipment such as but not limited to; dry blocks, heat blocks, cell washers, centrifuges, thermometers, timers, sensors, and analyzers following departmental procedures.
