Sr. Network Engineer (IT Network Administrator)

Responsibilities

The Sr. Network Engineer is a hands-on technology expert that will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, operation, support, and design of Immucor’s corporate network, server, storage, and voice infrastructure

Additional responsibilities as a Sr. Network Engineer include:

• Implementation and support of Cisco network equipment

• Support and maintenance of global WAN systems

• Support and maintenance of global SIP infrastructure

• Implementation and support of network systems

• Implementation and support of server systems

• Implementation and support of storage systems

• Design and administration of VMware vSphere environments

• Design and administration of wireless networks and equipment

• Assist with administration of Cisco UC and UCCX related systems and equipment

• Assist with troubleshooting and repair Cisco UC and UCCX software and hardware issues

• Assist with modification of Cisco UCCX call scripts as needed to achieve business requirements

• Troubleshoot and repair network software and hardware issues

• Monitor systems for errors and performance problems

• Tune systems for optimal performance

• Develop scripts for automating processes

• Serve as escalation point for complex issues

• Design and engineering of Information Technology systems as needed

• Evaluate, Test, and Design new communications and network topologies

• Maintain and document security, business continuity, and compliance of existing environment and future Information Technology systems

• Stay current on emerging tools, techniques and technologies to ensure that business requirements are met

Sr. Network Engineer (IT Network Administrator)

Qualifications

As a Sr. Network Engineer, you must also be very detail-oriented and organized with excellent time-management and multitasking skills. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to interact tactfully and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience configuring and supporting global Cisco network and voice related equipment

  • CCNA certification; ITIL Foundation or better, preferred

  • Solid understanding of networking technologies

  • Working experience with VMware ESXi Hypervisors and clusters

  • Understanding of networking and SAN principles and an ability to interpret system operational characteristics, accurately determine the presence of a problem, and identify possible solutions

  • High attention to detail and capable of working on multiple projects or tasks in parallel

  • Experience working in an Enterprise environment
