We are seeking a Molecular & Specialty Diagnostics Technical Specialist to grow reagent revenue by providing quality customer care through field/in-house training and technical support (assay/software/instrument) for all molecular and specialty diagnostics products.

Molecular and Specialty Diagnostics Technical Specialist (Transfusion Sales / Transplant Sales / Medical Technology - Sales Support)


Responsibilities

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will provide in-house and/or field technical support and training. You will be responsible for troubleshooting technical and equipment issues as well as conducting assay and instrumentation demonstrations/trainings.

Technical Specialist responsibilities include

  • Conduct customer training on assay, software, and/or instruments for molecular & specialty diagnostics product lines (in-house and/or on-site)

  • Provide advanced training to customers, where applicable

  • Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry

  • Educate customers on product/software updates and new assays available

  • Complete internal training requirements in a timely fashion

  • Perform installation and/or removal of Immucor-provided equipment at customer site

  • Perform preventative maintenance and/or servicing of Immucor-provided equipment at customer site

  • Support pre-implementation meetings with new accounts

  • communicate system/product implementation and training requirements

  • Perform site survey & workflow analysis - assess customer space, equipment, etc.

  • Assist and support customers with validations and revalidations

  • Proactively follow-up with accounts as needed (e.g. after training, after a customer notification has been distributed, etc.)

  • Perform technical troubleshoot for assay and/or equipment issues (phone/email and/or on-site

  • Routinely perform run data analysis of accounts to monitor Immucor performance and connect with customer, as needed

  • Work with Business manager to increase reagent sales in assigned territories

  • Assist Business Manager with technical presentations and inquiries

  • Collaborate with Business Manager(s) to provide quality customer care.

  • Learn and assess customer's needs to offer suggestions to grow business with addition of assays in patient and/or donor samples

  • Accommodate 80%-90% business travel for on-site customer events, trade shows, business meetings, etc. (mainly in North America)

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must be able to troubleshoot instrument/product issues independently, function well in a team environment, and have excellent communication skills.

Additional Technical Support Specialist requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology or related science field

  • 1+ years of molecular biology experience

  • 5+ years of laboratory experience in a regulated environment

  • Previous experience in a training and/or technical supportive role preferred

  • Adept in Good Laboratory Practices and Good Documentation Practices

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • The role requires physical presence at certain hospitals, blood donation centers, and/or laboratories and ensure that you are in compliance with any customer vendor credentialing requirements which may include provision of records establishing you have had certain screenings, vaccinations, and/or immunities within specified periods of time prior to visiting the facility

  • Ability to travel up to 80%

  • MUST be able to work out of the NJ based office. This is NOT a virtual/home office based position

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
