We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team. As a strategic partner, the HRBP aligns business objectives with employees and management for Transplant and Molecular Diagnostics sites (Grand Rapids, Mt. View, Warren, and Waukesha).

Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP, Leadership Development, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition)


The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on Human Resources related issues. Successful HRBP will act as employee champion and change agent. The HRBP assesses and anticipates HR related needs. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units financial position, its mid range plans, its culture, and its competition.

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Business Partner include:

  • Advises and coaches management in all HR Programs and Processes including but not limited to: Performance Management, Leadership Development, Talent Management, Compensation, Employee Relations, Recruitment/Selection, Rewards & Recognition.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and municipal regulations relating to fair employment practices.

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Corporate Human Resources team to develop solutions, programs and policies.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.

  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.

  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.

  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.

  • Manage new hire on-boarding for assigned Business Units.

  • Conducts training in support of HR Programs and Policies. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs in partnership with Learning & Development.

  • Handles recruiting for the sites as needed.

  • Active participant in site leadership teams.

As the Human Resources Business Partner, you must be detail-oriented and organized with excellent time-management and multitasking skills. Additionally, it is important that you are able to adapt and excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented, ever-changing environment.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Undergraduate Degree Required in Human Resources or other related business field

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR Generalist experience with the majority of experience supporting multiple business units across sites located across the U.S.

  • Industry Experience in a FDA regulated environment (Medical Device, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical) strongly preferred.

  • Strong business acumen, project management skills, and demonstrated credibility as a trusted advisor and confidant to management.

  • Strong Technology Orientation - To effectively maximize HR systems, tools and resources.

  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now helpful but not required.

  • A flexible thinker to support a dynamic, rapidly growing organization with HR best practices.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to travel, as needed, to the Norcross, GA Corporate Headquarters and other assigned branch offices located in Mt. View, CA and Warren, NJ (estimated travel 15%, must be able to navigate airports).

  • PHR or SPHR Certification a plus. Other designations such as CEBS, CBP, CCP, PMP preferred but not required.
